Driver license eligibility — Arkansas Permit Test
Driver license eligibility on the Arkansas permit test — 4 rules, each with the reason behind it and a question on it while it is fresh.
The rules
An Arkansas driver's license applicant under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian's consent.
A parent who signs off knows their teen is driving and shares the duty of making sure they are ready.
You have a parent or legal guardian to consent, if you are under the age of 18.
To get an Arkansas license on a hard copy license from another state, that license cannot be expired for more than 30 calendar days.
A license that lapsed long ago no longer shows the driver is current, so after a short grace period the state wants them tested.
It cannot be expired for more than 30 calendar days.
You may get an Arkansas driver's license if you are not suspended, revoked, expired or denied by Arkansas or another state, or if one year has passed from any revocation.
A revoked driver has shown they were a danger on the road, so the state waits before trusting them with a license again.
You are not suspended or revoked or expired or denied in whole or in part by Arkansas or any other state, or one year has passed from any revocation.
You cannot get an Arkansas driver's license while you have a judgment pending for a moving traffic violation.
A moving violation still open in court has to be settled before the state hands that driver a new license.
You have no judgments pending for a moving traffic violation.
On the test
Applicants younger than what age need a parent or legal guardian's consent for an Arkansas driver's license?
Younger than 18. A parent who signs off knows their teen is driving and shares the duty of making sure they are ready. Arkansas Driver License Study Guide, p.2: “You have a parent or legal guardian to consent, if you are under the age of 18.”
How this works
Most practice tests hand you a bank of questions and leave the manual somewhere else. This one puts them together.
You read one law and the reason behind it, then answer a question on that law while it is still fresh. Get it right and you move on; get it wrong and you have found the gap while it is cheap to fix, not on the morning of the exam.
Learning one rule at a time, and proving it immediately, is what turns a manual you skimmed into something you actually know — and it makes studying feel like getting somewhere rather than like waiting to find out.
What it costs
- One payment, once — not a subscription. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel, for an exam you sit one time.
- Free to start: a 10-question test and the first section of cards. No sign-up and no account.
- Paying opens the rest of the cards, unlimited full-length practice tests, and retests built from exactly the questions you got wrong.
- Every level up to Prepared — 3 tests passed in a row.
- Do the work, fail the real exam, and we refund you.
