Driving under the influence — Florida Permit Test
Driving under the influence on the Florida permit test — 6 rules, each with the reason behind it and a question on it while it is fresh.
The rules
Your license is administratively suspended at the time of arrest if your breath or blood alcohol level is .08 or above.
The suspension starts at the roadside, long before any court hears the case.
At the time of arrest, your license will be administratively suspended if you have a breath or blood alcohol level (BAL) of .08 or above
You can be charged with DUI for driving or being in physical control of a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, controlled substances, prescriptions or over-the-counter medicine.
Sitting in the driver’s seat with the keys counts, and so does a drug the pharmacy sold you.
You can be charged with Driving Under the Influence (DUI) if you are found to be driving or in physical control of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcoholic beverages, controlled substances, prescriptions, or over-thecounter medications.
A first DUI conviction carries 50 hours of community service.
Fifty hours is a working week and a half given up to the offense.
Community Service: 50 hours.
A DUI conviction revokes the license for a minimum of 180 days.
Six months without a license is the shortest version of this, not the worst.
License Revocation: Minimum 180 days.
A first DUI conviction requires 12 hours of DUI school.
The school is on top of the fine and the revocation, not instead of either.
DUI School: 12 hours.
A conviction for possessing, selling or trafficking in drugs, including marijuana, suspends your driver license.
The offense does not have to happen in a car for the license to go.
Florida law states that if you are convicted of possessing, selling, or trafficking in drugs, including marijuana, your driver license must be suspended.
On the test
At what breath or blood alcohol level is a license suspended on arrest?
.08 or above. The suspension starts at the roadside, long before any court hears the case. Official Florida Driver License Handbook, p.25: “At the time of arrest, your license will be administratively suspended if you have a breath or blood alcohol level (BAL) of .08 or above”
How this works
Most practice tests hand you a bank of questions and leave the manual somewhere else. This one puts them together.
You read one law and the reason behind it, then answer a question on that law while it is still fresh. Get it right and you move on; get it wrong and you have found the gap while it is cheap to fix, not on the morning of the exam.
Learning one rule at a time, and proving it immediately, is what turns a manual you skimmed into something you actually know — and it makes studying feel like getting somewhere rather than like waiting to find out.
What it costs
- One payment, once — not a subscription. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel, for an exam you sit one time.
- Free to start: a 10-question test and the first section of cards. No sign-up and no account.
- Paying opens the rest of the cards, unlimited full-length practice tests, and retests built from exactly the questions you got wrong.
- Every level up to Prepared — 3 tests passed in a row.
- Do the work, fail the real exam, and we refund you.
