Losing your license — Florida Permit Test
Losing your license on the Florida permit test — 7 rules, each with the reason behind it and a question on it while it is fresh.
The rules
A suspension is a temporary withdrawal of the driving privilege; a revocation is a termination of it; a cancellation makes the license void and terminated.
Three words that sound the same and mean three different lengths of time without a car.
Your license will be SUSPENDED (temporary withdrawal of driving privilege) if you:
Every driver who obtains a license must drive safely to keep it.
The license is not a possession. It is a permission that keeps being checked.
Every driver who obtains a license must drive safely to keep it.
Refusing a test to show whether you are driving under the influence will suspend your license.
The refusal itself is the offense, separate from anything the test would have shown.
Refuse to take a test to show if you are driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Three cases of reckless driving within one year must revoke your license.
Reckless driving is deliberate, so three of them in a year is a decision rather than a mistake.
Three cases of reckless driving within one year.
Three major offenses, or 15 offenses carrying points, within a 5-year period must revoke your license.
Fifteen tickets in five years is a driver the state has run out of patience with.
Three major offenses or 15 offenses for which you receive points within a 5-year period.
A license issued in error can be canceled.
A mistake at the counter does not become your right just because the card was printed.
Your license was issued in error.
To appeal an administrative suspension for a .08 reading or a refusal, you must apply for a review hearing within 10 days of the arrest.
Ten days is short, and missing the window leaves the suspension standing whatever the facts were.
you must apply for a formal or informal review hearing at the appropriate BAR office within 10 days of your date of arrest
On the test
What does a revocation mean, as against a suspension?
Termination, where a suspension is temporary. Three words that sound the same and mean three different lengths of time without a car. Official Florida Driver License Handbook, p.30: “Your license will be SUSPENDED (temporary withdrawal of driving privilege) if you:”
How this works
Most practice tests hand you a bank of questions and leave the manual somewhere else. This one puts them together.
You read one law and the reason behind it, then answer a question on that law while it is still fresh. Get it right and you move on; get it wrong and you have found the gap while it is cheap to fix, not on the morning of the exam.
Learning one rule at a time, and proving it immediately, is what turns a manual you skimmed into something you actually know — and it makes studying feel like getting somewhere rather than like waiting to find out.
What it costs
- One payment, once — not a subscription. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel, for an exam you sit one time.
- Free to start: a 10-question test and the first section of cards. No sign-up and no account.
- Paying opens the rest of the cards, unlimited full-length practice tests, and retests built from exactly the questions you got wrong.
- Every level up to Prepared — 3 tests passed in a row.
- Do the work, fail the real exam, and we refund you.
