Zero tolerance under 21 — Florida Permit Test
Zero tolerance under 21 on the Florida permit test — 3 rules, each with the reason behind it and a question on it while it is fresh.
The rules
A driver under 21 stopped with a blood alcohol level of .02 or higher automatically loses the driving privilege for six months.
Under 21 the line is set near zero, which is about one drink and sometimes less.
Any driver under 21 years of age who is stopped by law enforcement and has a BAL of .02 or higher will automatically have their driving privilege suspended for six months.
A driver under 21 with a blood alcohol level of .05 or higher must attend a substance abuse course.
At this level the state stops treating it as a slip and starts treating it as a habit.
Any driver under 21 with a BAL of .05 or higher is required to attend a substance abuse course.
For every driver under 19, an evaluation is completed and the parents or legal guardians are notified of the results.
Under 19 the letter goes home, which is often the part that changes the behavior.
An evaluation will be completed and parents or legal guardians will be notified of the results for all drivers under the age of 19.
On the test
What level costs an under-21 driver six months of driving?
.02 or higher. Under 21 the line is set near zero, which is about one drink and sometimes less. Official Florida Driver License Handbook, p.26: “Any driver under 21 years of age who is stopped by law enforcement and has a BAL of .02 or higher will automatically have their driving privilege suspended for six months.”
How this works
Most practice tests hand you a bank of questions and leave the manual somewhere else. This one puts them together.
You read one law and the reason behind it, then answer a question on that law while it is still fresh. Get it right and you move on; get it wrong and you have found the gap while it is cheap to fix, not on the morning of the exam.
Learning one rule at a time, and proving it immediately, is what turns a manual you skimmed into something you actually know — and it makes studying feel like getting somewhere rather than like waiting to find out.
What it costs
- One payment, once — not a subscription. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel, for an exam you sit one time.
- Free to start: a 10-question test and the first section of cards. No sign-up and no account.
- Paying opens the rest of the cards, unlimited full-length practice tests, and retests built from exactly the questions you got wrong.
- Every level up to Prepared — 3 tests passed in a row.
- Do the work, fail the real exam, and we refund you.
