What happens if I get pulled over and I don't have my license on me?
The officer can give you a ticket, and not carrying your license can also mean your car gets impounded. Under Iowa law the fine is $260, and you can pay it without going to court. If you show the court clerk your valid license before your court date, the ticket is dismissed, though you still pay court costs.
