The rules
In fog, reduce your normal driving speed, and when you see headlights or taillights ahead reduce it further, because you must be prepared to stop quickly.
In fog you can only stop within what you can see, and that is very little.
If the fog is so thick you cannot drive safely, pull completely off the road to a safe location and turn on your emergency flashers.
Stopping on the road in fog is the same as parking where nobody can see you.
