The rules
Vehicles in a funeral procession must turn on their headlights and hazard lights, and a vehicle in a procession with its lights on may go through a red signal.
The lights are what tell everybody else the line is one unit and should not be broken.
Other vehicles must yield to a funeral procession even on a green signal, until all vehicles in the procession have passed, unless they can safely go without crossing its path.
The line moves as one, and a car cutting in leaves both halves guessing.
