Road rage — Missouri Permit Test

Road rage on the Missouri permit test — 5 rules, each with the reason behind it and a question on it while it is fresh.

The rules

Road rage is an uncontrolled display of anger by a driver, usually in response to another driver's actions, which can end in property damage or personal injury.

It starts as temper and finishes as a crash or an assault. Naming it is the first step in not joining in.

Missouri Driver Guide, p.34

When confronted with road rage you should remain calm and not react with similar behavior.

Answering it in kind is what turns one angry driver into two. The first step is the only one you control.

Remain calm and do not react with similar behavior.

Missouri Driver Guide, p.34

Report a road rage incident to the nearest local authorities as soon as possible, giving the location, a description of the driver, and a description of the vehicle.

Four details make a report usable: where, who, what they were driving, and which way they went.

Get a description of the vehicle (approximate year, make, model, color, license plate number, etc.).

If you have a cellular phone, exit the roadway to a safe area and dial *55, or 911 in a metropolitan area.

Pull over first. Reporting a dangerous driver while still driving beside them helps nobody.

Beeping the horn is one of the behaviors the guide lists as associated with road rage.

The list is deliberately ordinary. Most of it is things drivers do without thinking of themselves as dangerous.

On the test

How does the Missouri guide define road rage?

An uncontrolled display of anger by a driver. It starts as temper and finishes as a crash or an assault. Naming it is the first step in not joining in. Missouri Driver Guide, p.34: “Road rage is an uncontrolled display of anger by the operator of a motor vehicle”

How this works

Most practice tests hand you a bank of questions and leave the manual somewhere else. This one puts them together.

You read one law and the reason behind it, then answer a question on that law while it is still fresh. Get it right and you move on; get it wrong and you have found the gap while it is cheap to fix, not on the morning of the exam.

Learning one rule at a time, and proving it immediately, is what turns a manual you skimmed into something you actually know — and it makes studying feel like getting somewhere rather than like waiting to find out.

What it costs

  • One payment, once — not a subscription. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel, for an exam you sit one time.
  • Free to start: a 10-question test and the first section of cards. No sign-up and no account.
  • Paying opens the rest of the cards, unlimited full-length practice tests, and retests built from exactly the questions you got wrong.
  • Every level up to Prepared — 3 tests passed in a row.
  • Do the work, fail the real exam, and we refund you.
