Window tint certificate — Mississippi Permit Test
Window tint certificate on the Mississippi permit test — 5 rules, each with the reason behind it and a question on it while it is fresh.
The rules
A Mississippi-registered vehicle with after-market window tint film must have its windows inspected by an official Mississippi Window Tint Inspection Station.
Dark film you cannot see out of at night hides people and cars, so the state checks it.
Any vehicle registered in Mississippi that has an after-market window tint film applied, must have the windows inspected by an official Mississippi Window Tint Inspection Station.
Windows with after-market tinting must have a window tint inspection certificate and decal.
Without the certificate and decal, an officer has no quick way to see the tint was passed.
Windows with aftermarket tinting must have a window tint inspection certificate and decal.
The window tint decal must be affixed to the lower left corner of the windshield.
A decal in the set spot lets an officer check the tint without stopping to search the car.
The window tint decal must be affixed to the lower left corner of the windshield.
The window tint compliance certificate must be kept on the dashboard or inside the dash compartment.
If the certificate is left at home, you cannot prove your tint passed when you are stopped.
The compliance certificate must be kept on the dashboard or inside the dash compartment.
The windshield must carry a label certifying that all the vehicle's windows let through 28% of light or more.
Glass that lets in too little light makes it hard to see out at night and hard for police to see in.
The windshield of the vehicle must have affixed to it a label certifying that all the windows of the vehicle have a light transmittance of 28% or more.
On the test
Who must inspect after-market window tint on a Mississippi vehicle?
An official tint inspection station. Dark film you cannot see out of at night hides people and cars, so the state checks it. Mississippi Driver's License Manual, p.75: “Any vehicle registered in Mississippi that has an after-market window tint film applied, must have the windows inspected by an official Mississippi Window Tint Inspection Station.”
How this works
Most practice tests hand you a bank of questions and leave the manual somewhere else. This one puts them together.
You read one law and the reason behind it, then answer a question on that law while it is still fresh. Get it right and you move on; get it wrong and you have found the gap while it is cheap to fix, not on the morning of the exam.
Learning one rule at a time, and proving it immediately, is what turns a manual you skimmed into something you actually know — and it makes studying feel like getting somewhere rather than like waiting to find out.
What it costs
- One payment, once — not a subscription. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel, for an exam you sit one time.
- Free to start: a 10-question test and the first section of cards. No sign-up and no account.
- Paying opens the rest of the cards, unlimited full-length practice tests, and retests built from exactly the questions you got wrong.
- Every level up to Prepared — 3 tests passed in a row.
- Do the work, fail the real exam, and we refund you.
