Medical review and re examination — Tennessee Permit Test
Medical review and re examination on the Tennessee permit test — 4 rules, each with the reason behind it and a question on it while it is fresh.
The rules
If the department learns your ability to drive is affected by a physical or mental disorder, you must submit a medical report from a doctor within 30 days of notice.
Some illnesses can make a driver black out without warning. The report lets a doctor say whether it is safe.
When information is received that an individual’s ability to drive is affected by a physical or mental disorder, the driver will be required to submit (within thirty (30) days of notification) a medical report from a medical doctor.
Drivers who lose consciousness or control because of epilepsy, cardiac syncope, diabetes or other conditions must be suspended and stay lapse free for at least 6 months before reinstatement.
A driver who blacks out at the wheel cannot steer or brake at all. Six clear months show the condition is under control.
Drivers who lose consciousness or control due to epilepsy, cardiac syncope, diabetes or other conditions must be suspended and remain lapse free for a minimum of six (6) months before being eligible for license reinstatement.
If there is information that your ability to drive safely is questionable, you may be directed to a Driver Service Center for a complete or partial driver examination.
Drivers change with age and health. A new test checks that the skills are still there before someone gets hurt.
If there is information that a driver’s ability to safely operate a motor vehicle is questionable, he or she may be directed to report to the nearest Driver Service Center to submit to a complete or partial driver examination.
Failing to respond to the department's request for a medical report or a driver examination within the set time will result in suspension of your driving privilege.
Ignoring the letter does not make the question go away. It turns a check-up into a suspension.
Failure to respond to departmental requests for a medical report or submission to a driver license examination within the prescribed time will result in the suspension of the driving privilege.
On the test
Within how many days must you send a medical report after the department asks about a disorder that affects your driving?
30 days. Some illnesses can make a driver black out without warning. The report lets a doctor say whether it is safe. Tennessee Comprehensive Driver License Manual, p.88: “When information is received that an individual’s ability to drive is affected by a physical or mental disorder, the driver will be required to submit (within thirty (30) days of notification) a medical report from a medical doctor.”
How this works
Most practice tests hand you a bank of questions and leave the manual somewhere else. This one puts them together.
You read one law and the reason behind it, then answer a question on that law while it is still fresh. Get it right and you move on; get it wrong and you have found the gap while it is cheap to fix, not on the morning of the exam.
Learning one rule at a time, and proving it immediately, is what turns a manual you skimmed into something you actually know — and it makes studying feel like getting somewhere rather than like waiting to find out.
What it costs
- One payment, once — not a subscription. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel, for an exam you sit one time.
- Free to start: a 10-question test and the first section of cards. No sign-up and no account.
- Paying opens the rest of the cards, unlimited full-length practice tests, and retests built from exactly the questions you got wrong.
- Every level up to Prepared — 3 tests passed in a row.
- Do the work, fail the real exam, and we refund you.
