Road test — Alabama Permit Test
Road test on the Alabama permit test — 3 rules, each with the reason behind it and a question on it while it is fresh.
The rules
A 16-year-old taking the road test must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
A parent or guardian has to agree to a 16-year-old driving, so one comes along on the day the license is earned.
applicant must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Before the road test, the examiner inspects the vehicle to make sure it is safe and has brake lights, left and right turn signals and a horn.
The examiner rides in the car, so a car without working signals or brakes lights is unsafe to test in.
Before testing may begin, an examiner will inspect the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition and has the required equipment (brake lights, left and right turn signals, horn).
For the road test you must present proof of insurance and vehicle registration, and a rental car may be used only if your name is on the rental agreement as an additional driver.
The car on the test must be covered and legal on the road, like any car you drive.
A rental vehicle may only be used for testing if the applicant’s name appears on the rental agreement as an additional driver.
On the test
Who must come with a 16-year-old to the road test?
A parent or guardian. A parent or guardian has to agree to a 16-year-old driving, so one comes along on the day the license is earned. Alabama Driver Manual, p.11: “applicant must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.”
How this works
Most practice tests hand you a bank of questions and leave the manual somewhere else. This one puts them together.
You read one law and the reason behind it, then answer a question on that law while it is still fresh. Get it right and you move on; get it wrong and you have found the gap while it is cheap to fix, not on the morning of the exam.
Learning one rule at a time, and proving it immediately, is what turns a manual you skimmed into something you actually know — and it makes studying feel like getting somewhere rather than like waiting to find out.
What it costs
- One payment, once — not a subscription. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel, for an exam you sit one time.
- Free to start: a 10-question test and the first section of cards. No sign-up and no account.
- Paying opens the rest of the cards, unlimited full-length practice tests, and retests built from exactly the questions you got wrong.
- Every level up to Prepared — 3 tests passed in a row.
- Do the work, fail the real exam, and we refund you.
