License eligibility checks — Arizona Permit Test
License eligibility checks on the Arizona permit test — 3 rules, each with the reason behind it and a question on it while it is fresh.
The rules
Arizona checks every driver license applicant against the National Driver Register, and will not issue a license to someone with outstanding or unresolved actions in another state.
A driver suspended in one state could otherwise cross the border and start over clean. The national list closes that gap.
If you have outstanding or unresolved actions in another state, an Arizona license will not be issued.
If you provide false information when you apply, your Arizona driver license may be canceled.
A license won by lying about your record is not really earned. MVD can take it back when the truth comes out.
If you provide false information, your Arizona driver license may be canceled.
MVD must not issue or renew a driver license or ID card for anyone who does not prove that their presence in the United States is authorized under federal law.
State law ties the license to legal presence. Without that proof, MVD is not allowed to hand over the card.
Vehicle Division (MVD must not issue or renew a driver license or identification (ID card for a person who does not submit proof satisfactory to MVD that the applicant’s presence in the United States is authorized under federal law.
On the test
What happens if you have unresolved actions against your driving in another state?
Arizona will not issue you a license. A driver suspended in one state could otherwise cross the border and start over clean. The national list closes that gap. Arizona Driver License Manual and Customer Service Guide, p.9: “If you have outstanding or unresolved actions in another state, an Arizona license will not be issued.”
How this works
Most practice tests hand you a bank of questions and leave the manual somewhere else. This one puts them together.
You read one law and the reason behind it, then answer a question on that law while it is still fresh. Get it right and you move on; get it wrong and you have found the gap while it is cheap to fix, not on the morning of the exam.
Learning one rule at a time, and proving it immediately, is what turns a manual you skimmed into something you actually know — and it makes studying feel like getting somewhere rather than like waiting to find out.
What it costs
- One payment, once — not a subscription. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel, for an exam you sit one time.
- Free to start: a 10-question test and the first section of cards. No sign-up and no account.
- Paying opens the rest of the cards, unlimited full-length practice tests, and retests built from exactly the questions you got wrong.
- Every level up to Prepared — 3 tests passed in a row.
- Do the work, fail the real exam, and we refund you.
