Aggressive driving law — Delaware Permit Test
Aggressive driving law on the Delaware permit test — 4 rules, each with the reason behind it and a question on it while it is fresh.
The rules
Delaware defines aggressive driving in terms of existing offenses such as failure to yield, unsafe lane change, disregarding a traffic control device, following too closely, passing on a shoulder, and speeding.
A driver who tailgates, cuts across lanes and speeds in one stretch is a bigger danger than any one ticket shows.
Aggressive driving is defined in terms of existing Title 21 offenses such as failure to yield, unsafe lane change, disregard of a traffic control device, failure to stop at the command of a police officer, following too closely, passing on a shoulder, and speeding.
In Delaware, a driver convicted of three or more of the listed offenses arising from one continuous course of conduct is guilty of aggressive driving.
One mistake can happen to anyone, but three in a row show a driver taking it out on the road.
Individuals convicted of three or more of these offenses as a result of continuous conduct are guilty of aggressive driving and are subject to increased penalties.
In Delaware, a first aggressive-driving offense carries a fine of $100 to $300.
A fine that hurts the wallet makes a driver think twice before tailgating and weaving again.
Offenders will be fined between $100.00 and $300.00 for the first offense.
A Delaware driver convicted of aggressive driving must complete a behavioral modification/attitudinal-driving course within 90 days, or their driving privilege is suspended.
An angry driver who never learns to handle their temper will keep endangering the cars around them.
Additionally, offenders are required to complete a behavioral modification/attitudinal-driving course within 90 days after the conviction for aggressive driving.
On the test
Which offense is one of those Delaware uses to define aggressive driving?
Following too closely. A driver who tailgates, cuts across lanes and speeds in one stretch is a bigger danger than any one ticket shows. Delaware Driver Manual, p.49: “Aggressive driving is defined in terms of existing Title 21 offenses such as failure to yield, unsafe lane change, disregard of a traffic control device, failure to stop at the command of a police officer, following too closely, passing on a shoulder, and speeding.”
How this works
Most practice tests hand you a bank of questions and leave the manual somewhere else. This one puts them together.
You read one law and the reason behind it, then answer a question on that law while it is still fresh. Get it right and you move on; get it wrong and you have found the gap while it is cheap to fix, not on the morning of the exam.
Learning one rule at a time, and proving it immediately, is what turns a manual you skimmed into something you actually know — and it makes studying feel like getting somewhere rather than like waiting to find out.
What it costs
- One payment, once — not a subscription. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel, for an exam you sit one time.
- Free to start: a 10-question test and the first section of cards. No sign-up and no account.
- Paying opens the rest of the cards, unlimited full-length practice tests, and retests built from exactly the questions you got wrong.
- Every level up to Prepared — 3 tests passed in a row.
- Do the work, fail the real exam, and we refund you.
