Revocation and suspension — Maine Permit Test
Revocation and suspension on the Maine permit test — 6 rules, each with the reason behind it and a question on it while it is fresh.
The rules
In Maine, revocation formally ends your license and driving privilege, and you must apply for a new license when the revocation period ends.
A driver who thinks a revoked license comes back on its own will drive unlicensed.
Revocation: While rarely used, it means that your license and driving privilege is formally terminated and you would have to apply for a new license at the end of the revocation period.
In Maine, vehicular manslaughter brings revocation for at least 5 years.
A driver who has killed someone through their driving is kept off the road long enough to protect others.
Vehicular Manslaughter. Revocation for at least 5 years.
In Maine, if alcohol is involved in a vehicular manslaughter, the revocation is permanent.
A driver who drank and killed someone has shown a risk no waiting period can fix.
If alcohol is involved revocation is permanent.
In Maine, a habitual offender's license is revoked for at least 1 year.
A driver convicted again and again has shown fines alone will not change how they drive.
Habitual Offender. Revocation for at least one year.
After a Maine suspension, you may not drive until you receive a written notice of reinstatement.
A driver who starts again the day the period ends, before reinstatement, is driving on a suspended license.

What does revocation of a Maine license mean?
It ends; you reapply after the period. A driver who thinks a revoked license comes back on its own will drive unlicensed. Maine Driver’s License Manual, p.12: “Revocation: While rarely used, it means that your license and driving privilege is formally terminated and you would have to apply for a new license at the end of the revocation period.”
How this works
Most practice tests hand you a bank of questions and leave the manual somewhere else. This one puts them together.
You read one law and the reason behind it, then answer a question on that law while it is still fresh. Get it right and you move on; get it wrong and you have found the gap while it is cheap to fix, not on the morning of the exam.
Learning one rule at a time, and proving it immediately, is what turns a manual you skimmed into something you actually know — and it makes studying feel like getting somewhere rather than like waiting to find out.
What it costs
- One payment, once — not a subscription. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel, for an exam you sit one time.
- Free to start: a 10-question test and the first section of cards. No sign-up and no account.
- Paying opens the rest of the cards, unlimited full-length practice tests, and retests built from exactly the questions you got wrong.
- Every level up to Prepared — 3 tests passed in a row.
- Do the work, fail the real exam, and we refund you.
