License notations — Missouri Permit Test

License notations on the Missouri permit test — 8 rules, each with the reason behind it and a question on it while it is fresh.

The rules

Saying yes to the donor registry question adds your name to the Missouri Organ and Tissue Donor Registry, and no further consent is needed.

First-person consent means your answer stands on its own. It spares your family a decision at the worst possible moment.

No further consent is needed, which relieves your family of making that decision on your behalf.

Missouri Driver Guide, p.12

There is no fee to place the organ donor symbol on your license or to put your name in the registry.

Cost should not be what decides this. Missouri removes it from the question entirely.

There is no fee to place the symbol on your instruction permit, driver license or nondriver ID, or place your name in the registry.

Missouri Driver Guide, p.12

A DHH notation can be placed on your license so that police and medical personnel can tell you are deaf or hard of hearing.

After a crash you may not be able to explain. The notation speaks for you when you cannot.

this notation will allow law enforcement or emergency and medical personnel to readily determine if you are deaf or hard of hearing.

Missouri Driver Guide, p.12

The DHH notation is only added when you request it at the time you apply.

Nobody puts it there for you. It is your call, and the moment to make it is at the counter.

In order to obtain the “DHH” notation, you must request the notation when applying for a license or instruction permit.

Adding a boater safety indicator to a license or nondriver ID costs an extra one dollar over the standard processing fees.

One dollar buys you one card instead of two. The Patrol accepts it in place of the separate boating card.

There will be an additional cost of $1 added to standard processing fees when the boater identification indicator is initially added to a driver license or nondriver ID document.

Missouri Driver Guide, p.13

A veteran designation may be placed on the front of a Missouri license at no additional cost.

The state does not charge for the word. The only thing asked for is a discharge document that proves the service.

There will be no additional cost to add the indicator.

Missouri Driver Guide, p.13

You are not required by law to obtain a permanent disability indicator on your license or nondriver ID.

It is offered, not imposed. Nothing about your card changes if you would rather it did not.

You are not required by law to obtain a permanent disability indicator on your driver license or non-driver license.

Missouri Driver Guide, p.13

A medical alert notation requires a physician's statement completed and signed by a licensed practitioner, and costs nothing extra.

The notation tells a responder something about your body. A signature is what keeps it true.

To be eligible for the medical alert notation you must submit a Physicians statement

On the test

What does answering yes to the donor registry question at the license office do?

Adds your name to the registry, with no further consent needed. First-person consent means your answer stands on its own. It spares your family a decision at the worst possible moment. Missouri Driver Guide, p.12: “No further consent is needed, which relieves your family of making that decision on your behalf.”

How this works

Most practice tests hand you a bank of questions and leave the manual somewhere else. This one puts them together.

You read one law and the reason behind it, then answer a question on that law while it is still fresh. Get it right and you move on; get it wrong and you have found the gap while it is cheap to fix, not on the morning of the exam.

Learning one rule at a time, and proving it immediately, is what turns a manual you skimmed into something you actually know — and it makes studying feel like getting somewhere rather than like waiting to find out.

What it costs

  • One payment, once — not a subscription. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel, for an exam you sit one time.
  • Free to start: a 10-question test and the first section of cards. No sign-up and no account.
  • Paying opens the rest of the cards, unlimited full-length practice tests, and retests built from exactly the questions you got wrong.
  • Every level up to Prepared — 3 tests passed in a row.
  • Do the work, fail the real exam, and we refund you.
