Minor license cancellation alcohol drugs — North Dakota Permit Test
Minor license cancellation alcohol drugs on the North Dakota permit test — 4 rules, each with the reason behind it and a question on it while it is fresh.
The rules
The director cancels the license of a minor under 18 who committed an alcohol- or drug-related offense while driving, when the offense created an imminent risk to another person and the official with jurisdiction orders it.
A teen who drives impaired has shown they are not ready, and starting over protects others while they learn again.
The director shall cancel the operator’s license of a minor under 18 years of age who has committed an alcohol or drug related offense while operating a motor vehicle if the individual was a minor;
A minor whose permit or license is canceled this way is treated as never having had a permit or license, and must start again with the knowledge and vision tests.
Starting from the beginning makes the young driver relearn the habits that should have kept them sober at the wheel.
A minor, under 18, whose permit or license has been cancelled in this manner will be considered as never having had a permit or license before.
After a cancellation, driver's education may also be met with an NDDOT-approved Internet course plus 30 hours of driving supervised by a parent or legal guardian.
Supervised hours with a parent make sure the teen rebuilds safe habits on the road, not just in a lesson.
In the event of a cancellation, driver’s education requirements may be met by completing 30 hours of classroom and six hours of behind-the-wheel training through the Department of Public Instruction or six hours of behind-the-wheel training through a commercial driver training school approved by the North Dakota Department of Transportation or by completing a North Dakota Department of Transportation approved Internet driver education course and 30 hours of driving supervised by a parent or legal guardian.
A canceled minor's points total does not automatically go back to zero when the cancellation requirements are fulfilled.
The record of what happened stays with the driver, so a later offense is judged against it.
The points total does not automatically go back to zero when the cancellation requirements are fulfilled.
On the test
What can happen to the license of a North Dakota driver under 18 for an alcohol-related driving offense?
It can be canceled. A teen who drives impaired has shown they are not ready, and starting over protects others while they learn again. North Dakota Noncommercial Driver License Manual, p.6: “The director shall cancel the operator’s license of a minor under 18 years of age who has committed an alcohol or drug related offense while operating a motor vehicle if the individual was a minor;”
How this works
Most practice tests hand you a bank of questions and leave the manual somewhere else. This one puts them together.
You read one law and the reason behind it, then answer a question on that law while it is still fresh. Get it right and you move on; get it wrong and you have found the gap while it is cheap to fix, not on the morning of the exam.
Learning one rule at a time, and proving it immediately, is what turns a manual you skimmed into something you actually know — and it makes studying feel like getting somewhere rather than like waiting to find out.
What it costs
- One payment, once — not a subscription. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel, for an exam you sit one time.
- Free to start: a 10-question test and the first section of cards. No sign-up and no account.
- Paying opens the rest of the cards, unlimited full-length practice tests, and retests built from exactly the questions you got wrong.
- Every level up to Prepared — 3 tests passed in a row.
- Do the work, fail the real exam, and we refund you.
