Class D intermediate license — Oklahoma Permit Test

Class D intermediate license on the Oklahoma permit test — 4 rules, each with the reason behind it and a question on it while it is fresh.

The rules

A 16-year-old can get an Oklahoma intermediate license only with a driver education completion certificate; at 16 1/2, driver education is not required.

Teens who finish a course get trained sooner, so the state lets them move up six months earlier than teens who did not.

16 – Cars, vans, trucks under 26,001 lbs. (GVWR), recreational vehicles, fire trucks. Must show completion certificate from an approved driver education course.

Oklahoma Driver Manual, p.6

To get an Oklahoma intermediate license, you must present a Work Zone Safe completion certificate.

Work zones put workers a few feet from traffic, and new drivers must learn how to get through them without hurting anyone.

Must present Work Zone Safe completion certificate.

Oklahoma Driver Manual, p.6

If you completed driver education, the intermediate restriction can be removed after 6 months.

Trained teens have shown they learned the rules, so the state lifts their limits sooner.

Can have intermediate restriction removed after 6months if you completed driver education and 1 year if no driver education.

Oklahoma Driver Manual, p.6

If you did not complete driver education, the intermediate restriction can be removed after 1 year.

Without a course, a teen learns only on the road, so the state keeps the limits on for longer.

Can have intermediate restriction removed after 6months if you completed driver education and 1 year if no driver education.

On the test

What does a 16-year-old need for an Oklahoma intermediate license that a 16 1/2-year-old does not?

A driver education completion certificate. Teens who finish a course get trained sooner, so the state lets them move up six months earlier than teens who did not. Oklahoma Driver Manual, p.6: “16 – Cars, vans, trucks under 26,001 lbs. (GVWR), recreational vehicles, fire trucks. Must show completion certificate from an approved driver education course.”

How this works

Most practice tests hand you a bank of questions and leave the manual somewhere else. This one puts them together.

You read one law and the reason behind it, then answer a question on that law while it is still fresh. Get it right and you move on; get it wrong and you have found the gap while it is cheap to fix, not on the morning of the exam.

Learning one rule at a time, and proving it immediately, is what turns a manual you skimmed into something you actually know — and it makes studying feel like getting somewhere rather than like waiting to find out.

What it costs

  • One payment, once — not a subscription. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel, for an exam you sit one time.
  • Free to start: a 10-question test and the first section of cards. No sign-up and no account.
  • Paying opens the rest of the cards, unlimited full-length practice tests, and retests built from exactly the questions you got wrong.
  • Every level up to Prepared — 3 tests passed in a row.
  • Do the work, fail the real exam, and we refund you.
