License restriction codes — Oklahoma Permit Test
License restriction codes on the Oklahoma permit test — 9 rules, each with the reason behind it and a question on it while it is fresh.
The rules
Restrictions on an Oklahoma license are listed as a code on the license and explained on the back of the license.
A driver or officer can check what each code means right there, without looking anything up.
Restrictions are listed as a code on your license and explained on the back of the license.
Restriction code B means corrective lenses, for people who must wear glasses or contacts to meet the vision requirements.
A driver who needs glasses to pass the eye test cannot see the road safely without them.
For people who must wear glasses or contacts to meet the vision requirements.
Restriction code F means a left outside rear vision mirror, for people with limited vision in the left eye or with limited hearing.

Restriction code 4 means an automatic transmission, for people whose physical condition requires one to handle the vehicle safely.
Some drivers cannot work a clutch and gear shift safely, so they must drive a car that shifts for them.

Restriction code 5 requires turn indicators and power steering or a steering knob, for people with limited use of either hand.
A driver with a weak hand needs equipment that lets one hand steer and signal safely.

Restriction code 6 means food, fruit or candy within reach of the driver, for people with insulin-dependent diabetes.

Restriction code 7 means adequate artificial limbs.
A driver who has lost a limb must wear an artificial one that lets them work the controls.

Some drivers need a condition that no other code covers, so it is written out on the license itself.
8 = Detailed restrictions on license.
Restriction code 9 means the driver must be accompanied by a licensed driver in the front seat, and it is for people learning to drive.

On the test
Where is the meaning of a restriction code on your Oklahoma license explained?
On the back of the license. A driver or officer can check what each code means right there, without looking anything up. Oklahoma Driver Manual, p.14: “Restrictions are listed as a code on your license and explained on the back of the license.”
How this works
Most practice tests hand you a bank of questions and leave the manual somewhere else. This one puts them together.
You read one law and the reason behind it, then answer a question on that law while it is still fresh. Get it right and you move on; get it wrong and you have found the gap while it is cheap to fix, not on the morning of the exam.
Learning one rule at a time, and proving it immediately, is what turns a manual you skimmed into something you actually know — and it makes studying feel like getting somewhere rather than like waiting to find out.
What it costs
- One payment, once — not a subscription. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel, for an exam you sit one time.
- Free to start: a 10-question test and the first section of cards. No sign-up and no account.
- Paying opens the rest of the cards, unlimited full-length practice tests, and retests built from exactly the questions you got wrong.
- Every level up to Prepared — 3 tests passed in a row.
- Do the work, fail the real exam, and we refund you.
