Fog driving — Wyoming Permit Test
Fog driving on the Wyoming permit test — 4 rules, each with the reason behind it and a question on it while it is fresh.
The rules
In fog, use your low beam headlights.
High beams bounce off fog and throw a wall of glare back into your eyes.
low beam headlights.
Rear fog lights should only be used in heavy fog or similar weather that seriously reduces visibility, and switched off once visibility improves.
A bright rear fog light in clear air dazzles the driver behind you.
Switch off your rear fog lights once visibility improves.
The chance of a crash is extremely high when your speed differs from the speed of other traffic by more than 15 mph.
A car going much slower than the flow is hit from behind by drivers who cannot see it in time.
The chance of a crash is extremely high whenever the difference between your speed and the speed of other traffic is more than 15 mph.
When you cannot see at least 10 seconds ahead, consider pulling off at the nearest safe spot and stopping.
If you cannot see far enough to react, the safest choice is to stop driving until you can.
When you can't see at least 10 seconds ahead, consider pulling off at the nearest safe spot and stopping.
On the test
Which headlights should you use in fog?
Low beam headlights. High beams bounce off fog and throw a wall of glare back into your eyes. Wyoming Rules of the Road Driver License Manual, p.78: “low beam headlights.”
How this works
Most practice tests hand you a bank of questions and leave the manual somewhere else. This one puts them together.
You read one law and the reason behind it, then answer a question on that law while it is still fresh. Get it right and you move on; get it wrong and you have found the gap while it is cheap to fix, not on the morning of the exam.
Learning one rule at a time, and proving it immediately, is what turns a manual you skimmed into something you actually know — and it makes studying feel like getting somewhere rather than like waiting to find out.
What it costs
- One payment, once — not a subscription. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel, for an exam you sit one time.
- Free to start: a 10-question test and the first section of cards. No sign-up and no account.
- Paying opens the rest of the cards, unlimited full-length practice tests, and retests built from exactly the questions you got wrong.
- Every level up to Prepared — 3 tests passed in a row.
- Do the work, fail the real exam, and we refund you.
