Road construction zones — Wyoming Permit Test

Road construction zones on the Wyoming permit test — 3 rules, each with the reason behind it and a question on it while it is fresh.

The rules

In road construction, drive slowly and keep alert for workers or equipment that may enter traffic and make you slow or change lanes.

Workers and machines move into lanes with little warning, and a fast car cannot react.

Drive slowly and keep alert for workers or equipment that may enter into the traffic stream, causing you to slow or change lanes.

Wyoming Rules of the Road Driver License Manual, p.85

Keep taking extra care through construction work zones even when there is no work going on nearby.

Torn-up pavement, lane shifts and parked equipment stay in place after the workers leave.

Extra care should be maintained through construction work zones even though there is no apparent work activity in the immediate vicinity.

Wyoming Rules of the Road Driver License Manual, p.85

Near a construction zone, do not pass a heavy truck fast and cut back in front of it; the truck must brake hard and may rear-end you.

A loaded truck needs far more room to stop than a car, so it cannot avoid you if you cut in close.

When approaching a construction zone, if you pass a heavy vehicle at a high speed and then cut back in front of the truck so you won't be trapped behind it, the truck driver is forced to use emergency braking.

On the test

What should you watch for when driving through road construction?

Workers or equipment entering traffic. Workers and machines move into lanes with little warning, and a fast car cannot react. Wyoming Rules of the Road Driver License Manual, p.85: “Drive slowly and keep alert for workers or equipment that may enter into the traffic stream, causing you to slow or change lanes.”

How this works

Most practice tests hand you a bank of questions and leave the manual somewhere else. This one puts them together.

You read one law and the reason behind it, then answer a question on that law while it is still fresh. Get it right and you move on; get it wrong and you have found the gap while it is cheap to fix, not on the morning of the exam.

Learning one rule at a time, and proving it immediately, is what turns a manual you skimmed into something you actually know — and it makes studying feel like getting somewhere rather than like waiting to find out.

What it costs

  • One payment, once — not a subscription. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel, for an exam you sit one time.
  • Free to start: a 10-question test and the first section of cards. No sign-up and no account.
  • Paying opens the rest of the cards, unlimited full-length practice tests, and retests built from exactly the questions you got wrong.
  • Every level up to Prepared — 3 tests passed in a row.
  • Do the work, fail the real exam, and we refund you.
