Administrative revocation periods — Delaware Permit Test

Administrative revocation periods on the Delaware permit test — 3 rules, each with the reason behind it and a question on it while it is fresh.

The rules

After an unfavorable ruling at a Delaware administrative hearing on probable cause, the license is revoked for 3 months for a first offense.

A revocation right after the hearing keeps the driver off the road while the court case is still pending.

3 months for 1st offense

Delaware Driver Manual, p.55

After an unfavorable ruling at a Delaware administrative hearing for a refused chemical test, the license is revoked for 12 months for a first offense, 18 months for a second, and 24 months for a third or more.

A refusal costs more than failing so that hiding the evidence is never the better deal.

12 months for 1st offense

Delaware Driver Manual, p.55

To be reinstated after a Delaware probable cause or refusal revocation, the driver must complete the course or rehabilitation program set by an alcohol evaluation and serve the revocation period.

Handing a license back without treatment puts the same drinking habit back behind the wheel.

Satisfactory completion in a course of instruction and/or program of rehabilitation as designated by an alcohol evaluation.

On the test

How long is the administrative revocation for a first offense on probable cause in Delaware?

3 months. A revocation right after the hearing keeps the driver off the road while the court case is still pending. Delaware Driver Manual, p.55: “3 months for 1st offense”

How this works

Most practice tests hand you a bank of questions and leave the manual somewhere else. This one puts them together.

You read one law and the reason behind it, then answer a question on that law while it is still fresh. Get it right and you move on; get it wrong and you have found the gap while it is cheap to fix, not on the morning of the exam.

Learning one rule at a time, and proving it immediately, is what turns a manual you skimmed into something you actually know — and it makes studying feel like getting somewhere rather than like waiting to find out.

What it costs

  • One payment, once — not a subscription. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel, for an exam you sit one time.
  • Free to start: a 10-question test and the first section of cards. No sign-up and no account.
  • Paying opens the rest of the cards, unlimited full-length practice tests, and retests built from exactly the questions you got wrong.
  • Every level up to Prepared — 3 tests passed in a row.
  • Do the work, fail the real exam, and we refund you.
