Driving privilege card — Delaware Permit Test

Driving privilege card on the Delaware permit test — 3 rules, each with the reason behind it and a question on it while it is fresh.

The rules

A Delaware Driving Privilege Card is a valid driver license for driving within Delaware only, and it cannot be used as identification.

A holder who shows a DPC at an airport or bank as ID will be turned away.

The Delaware DPC is a valid driver license that is issued for driving purposes only within the state of Delaware and is not to be used as a valid form of identification.

Delaware Driver Manual, p.24

A Delaware Driving Privilege Card is valid for 4 years.

A holder who assumes it lasts as long as a regular license can find it expired at a traffic stop.

The fee for the DPC is $20.00 and it is valid for a period of 4 years.

Delaware Driver Manual, p.24

Delaware Driving Privilege Card holders are subject to all of Delaware's driving laws, rules and regulations.

A holder who thinks a special card brings special rules may ignore a law that applies to everyone.

All DPC holders are susceptible to all Delaware driving laws, rules, and regulations.

On the test

What is a Delaware Driving Privilege Card good for?

Driving in Delaware only. A holder who shows a DPC at an airport or bank as ID will be turned away. Delaware Driver Manual, p.24: “The Delaware DPC is a valid driver license that is issued for driving purposes only within the state of Delaware and is not to be used as a valid form of identification.”

How this works

Most practice tests hand you a bank of questions and leave the manual somewhere else. This one puts them together.

You read one law and the reason behind it, then answer a question on that law while it is still fresh. Get it right and you move on; get it wrong and you have found the gap while it is cheap to fix, not on the morning of the exam.

Learning one rule at a time, and proving it immediately, is what turns a manual you skimmed into something you actually know — and it makes studying feel like getting somewhere rather than like waiting to find out.

What it costs

  • One payment, once — not a subscription. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel, for an exam you sit one time.
  • Free to start: a 10-question test and the first section of cards. No sign-up and no account.
  • Paying opens the rest of the cards, unlimited full-length practice tests, and retests built from exactly the questions you got wrong.
  • Every level up to Prepared — 3 tests passed in a row.
  • Do the work, fail the real exam, and we refund you.
