Occupational license problem driver — Delaware Permit Test
Occupational license problem driver on the Delaware permit test — 5 rules, each with the reason behind it and a question on it while it is fresh.
The rules
Delaware may issue an occupational license during a Problem Driver Program suspension if the suspension has created an extreme hardship.
A parent who would lose their job without a car may still be allowed to drive to work under limits.
The Division may issue an occupational license during the period of suspension under the Driver Improvement Problem Driver Program if the suspension has created an extreme hardship, unless the driver is suspended or revoked for other Title 21 convictions.
Delaware will not issue an occupational license if the driver has had two previous suspensions under the program within three years, or was issued an occupational license in the previous 12 months.
A driver who keeps landing back in the program should not keep getting the same easy way out.
An occupational license shall not be issued if the driver has had two previous suspensions under this policy within the previous three years or has been issued an occupational license during the previous 12 months.
In Delaware, occupational licenses are not issued during the first month of a Problem Driver Program suspension.
A suspension that could be skipped from day one would carry no sting at all.
Occupational licenses are not issued during the first month of the suspension.
If a Delaware driver's calculated points reach 15 or more in a 24-month period, no occupational license is issued until the points fall below 15.
A driver with that many recent points is too likely to crash even on a limited route to work.
If the calculated point level reaches 15 or more points in a 24-month period, an occupational license will not be issued until the calculated points are less than 15 points.
A Delaware driver convicted of driving outside the restrictions of their occupational license has the suspension extended for an additional like period and must surrender the occupational license.
A driver given a license for work trips who uses it for nights out has broken the deal that let them drive.
Upon conviction for a charge of operating a motor vehicle in violation of the restrictions of the occupational license, the Division will extend the period of suspension for an additional like period.
On the test
When may Delaware issue an occupational license during a Problem Driver Program suspension?
When the suspension creates extreme hardship. A parent who would lose their job without a car may still be allowed to drive to work under limits. Delaware Driver Manual, p.48: “The Division may issue an occupational license during the period of suspension under the Driver Improvement Problem Driver Program if the suspension has created an extreme hardship, unless the driver is suspended or revoked for other Title 21 convictions.”
How this works
Most practice tests hand you a bank of questions and leave the manual somewhere else. This one puts them together.
You read one law and the reason behind it, then answer a question on that law while it is still fresh. Get it right and you move on; get it wrong and you have found the gap while it is cheap to fix, not on the morning of the exam.
Learning one rule at a time, and proving it immediately, is what turns a manual you skimmed into something you actually know — and it makes studying feel like getting somewhere rather than like waiting to find out.
What it costs
- One payment, once — not a subscription. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel, for an exam you sit one time.
- Free to start: a 10-question test and the first section of cards. No sign-up and no account.
- Paying opens the rest of the cards, unlimited full-length practice tests, and retests built from exactly the questions you got wrong.
- Every level up to Prepared — 3 tests passed in a row.
- Do the work, fail the real exam, and we refund you.
