Suspension and revocation — Georgia Permit Test
Suspension and revocation on the Georgia permit test — 5 rules, each with the reason behind it and a question on it while it is fresh.
The rules
A revoked Georgia license means every driving privilege is terminated until the revocation period set by the Department has run out, and then you apply for a new license.
Revocation ends the license rather than pausing it, so what comes next is a fresh application.
If a license is revoked, all driving privileges are terminated and withdrawn until the end of the period of time prescribed by the formal action of the Department.
A suspended Georgia license means driving privileges are withdrawn for a set time, or until the reinstatement requirements have been met, and then you apply to get it back.
The difference from revocation is that the license itself survives, waiting for you to reinstate it.
If a license is suspended, all driving privileges are temporarily withdrawn for a specific period of time or until reinstatement requirements have been completed.
Georgia declares you a Habitual Violator on the third conviction, in any combination, of a list of serious offenses within 5 years.
The list is made of the offenses that hurt other people, and three of them ends the license.
You are declared a Habitual Violator based upon the third conviction of any combination of these offenses within 5 years
A Georgia Habitual Violator may become eligible for a Probationary License after serving two years of the revocation period.
Two years is the earliest any road back opens, and it is a restricted license even then.
If you are declared a Habitual Violator, you may be eligible for a Probationary License after serving two years of the revocation period.
A limited driving permit may be available in some Georgia suspensions for a fee of $32, and it lets you drive only to the places the law lists, such as work, school and medical appointments.
The permit is a list of errands rather than a license, and driving outside the list revokes it.
In some situations, a limited driving permit may be available for a fee of $32 during the suspension period.
On the test
What does a revoked Georgia license mean?
Privileges end until the period runs out. Revocation ends the license rather than pausing it, so what comes next is a fresh application. Georgia Driver's Manual, p.127: “If a license is revoked, all driving privileges are terminated and withdrawn until the end of the period of time prescribed by the formal action of the Department.”
How this works
Most practice tests hand you a bank of questions and leave the manual somewhere else. This one puts them together.
You read one law and the reason behind it, then answer a question on that law while it is still fresh. Get it right and you move on; get it wrong and you have found the gap while it is cheap to fix, not on the morning of the exam.
Learning one rule at a time, and proving it immediately, is what turns a manual you skimmed into something you actually know — and it makes studying feel like getting somewhere rather than like waiting to find out.
What it costs
- One payment, once — not a subscription. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel, for an exam you sit one time.
- Free to start: a 10-question test and the first section of cards. No sign-up and no account.
- Paying opens the rest of the cards, unlimited full-length practice tests, and retests built from exactly the questions you got wrong.
- Every level up to Prepared — 3 tests passed in a row.
- Do the work, fail the real exam, and we refund you.
