Suspension reasons — Idaho Permit Test

Suspension reasons on the Idaho permit test — 9 rules, each with the reason behind it and a question on it while it is fresh.

The rules

The courts and ITD are authorized to suspend, disqualify, deny, cancel or revoke the license of drivers convicted of certain laws, including driving under the influence and reckless driving.

Two separate bodies can take the license, which is why a court result and a department notice can both arrive.

The courts and the Idaho Transportation Department are authorized by law to suspend, disqualify, deny, cancel, or revoke the license of drivers convicted of breaking certain laws

Leaving the scene of a crash you were involved in, where the crash caused property damage, is a reason for suspension.

The damage does not have to be an injury; leaving is enough on its own.

Making a false statement, oral or written, to the Idaho Transportation Department while under oath is a reason for suspension.

The department acts on what it is told, so a lie to it is treated as seriously as one to a court.

Failure to carry motor vehicle insurance is a reason for suspension.

Insurance is what pays for the damage a driver does, and without it everyone else carries the risk.

Violating a restriction on your license, such as daylight only or lenses, is a reason for suspension.

The restriction is the condition the license was issued on, and breaking it is driving outside the license.

Failure to attend school or comply with school requirements is a reason for suspension in Idaho.

The license and school attendance are tied together for anyone under 18, which is why one can cost the other.

Refusing to take an evidentiary test, and fleeing from or eluding a peace officer, are both reasons for suspension.

Both are refusals to take part in the process, and each is treated as seriously as the offense behind it.

Using a motor vehicle to commit a felony is a reason for suspension.

The car becomes part of the offense, and the license goes with it.

Failing to pay child support, to comply with visitation rights, or to comply with a subpoena for a paternity suit are reasons for suspension.

These have nothing to do with driving, and the license is used as leverage anyway.

On the test

Who is authorized to suspend an Idaho driver's license?

The courts and the Idaho Transportation Department. Two separate bodies can take the license, which is why a court result and a department notice can both arrive. How this works

Most practice tests hand you a bank of questions and leave the manual somewhere else. This one puts them together.

You read one law and the reason behind it, then answer a question on that law while it is still fresh. Get it right and you move on; get it wrong and you have found the gap while it is cheap to fix, not on the morning of the exam.

Learning one rule at a time, and proving it immediately, is what turns a manual you skimmed into something you actually know — and it makes studying feel like getting somewhere rather than like waiting to find out.

What it costs

  • One payment, once — not a subscription. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel, for an exam you sit one time.
  • Free to start: a 10-question test and the first section of cards. No sign-up and no account.
  • Paying opens the rest of the cards, unlimited full-length practice tests, and retests built from exactly the questions you got wrong.
  • Every level up to Prepared — 3 tests passed in a row.
  • Do the work, fail the real exam, and we refund you.
