Interdicted license — Utah Permit Test

Interdicted license on the Utah permit test — 5 rules, each with the reason behind it and a question on it while it is fresh.

The rules

A Utah interdicted driver license or identification card identifies a person who may not purchase alcohol in restaurants, bars, or state liquor stores.

The card itself does the work. A server reads it and the sale does not happen, without anybody having to explain why.

An interdicted driver license or identification card is a tool used to identify that a driver cannot purchase alcohol in Utah restaurants, bars, or state liquor stores.

Utah Driver Handbook 2026-2027, p.55

Where a Utah court designates a person as interdicted, it may collect the license, and adding the interdicted status at an office costs an additional $7.00 administrative fee.

The court can take the card there and then, and putting the status on a new one is a separate small charge.

the person may apply for a license or identification card to add the interdicted status by appearing in a DLD office; there will be an additional $7.00 administrative fee

Utah Driver Handbook 2026-2027, p.55

A person who voluntarily applies for a Utah interdicted license must keep it for at least 30 days before reapplying for a non-interdicted one.

Thirty days stops the card being taken out and handed back the same week, which would make it worth nothing.

The interdicted DL/IDC will need to be maintained for at least 30 days before reapplying for a non-interdicted DL/IDC.

A Utah court has discretion to decide how long interdicted status lasts, depending on the severity of the offense and the court findings.

There is no table to look this up in. The length is whatever the judge decides the case is worth.

The court has discretion to determine the length, which depends on the severity of the offense and court findings.

A person who voluntarily applies for a Utah license or identification card with an interdicted person qualifier does not pay an administrative fee.

Asking for the restriction yourself is free. Utah does not charge somebody for deciding to stop buying alcohol.

An individual who voluntarily applies for a driver license or identification card with an interdicted person qualifier is not required to pay an administrative fee.

On the test

What does a Utah interdicted license identify?

Somebody who may not buy alcohol. The card itself does the work. A server reads it and the sale does not happen, without anybody having to explain why. Utah Driver Handbook 2026-2027, p.55: “An interdicted driver license or identification card is a tool used to identify that a driver cannot purchase alcohol in Utah restaurants, bars, or state liquor stores.”

How this works

Most practice tests hand you a bank of questions and leave the manual somewhere else. This one puts them together.

You read one law and the reason behind it, then answer a question on that law while it is still fresh. Get it right and you move on; get it wrong and you have found the gap while it is cheap to fix, not on the morning of the exam.

Learning one rule at a time, and proving it immediately, is what turns a manual you skimmed into something you actually know — and it makes studying feel like getting somewhere rather than like waiting to find out.

What it costs

  • One payment, once — not a subscription. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel, for an exam you sit one time.
  • Free to start: a 10-question test and the first section of cards. No sign-up and no account.
  • Paying opens the rest of the cards, unlimited full-length practice tests, and retests built from exactly the questions you got wrong.
  • Every level up to Prepared — 3 tests passed in a row.
  • Do the work, fail the real exam, and we refund you.
