Administrative per se suspension — Wyoming Permit Test
Administrative per se suspension on the Wyoming permit test — 6 rules, each with the reason behind it and a question on it while it is fresh.
The rules
In Wyoming, an Administrative Per Se suspension follows when you are arrested for DWUI and your chemical test shows an alcohol concentration of 0.08 percent or greater.
At that level a driver is impaired whether or not they feel it, so the license is taken before the case reaches court.
you have been arrested for DWUI and the results of your chemical test show an alcohol concentration of 0.08 percent or greater.
An Administrative Per Se suspension in Wyoming lasts 90 days.
A long break from driving makes the cost of a failed test real long before any trial is over.
Dismissal of the DWUI in court will not affect the Administrative Per Se suspension. Length of suspension: 90 days.
If the DWUI charge is dismissed in court, the Administrative Per Se suspension is not affected.
The suspension rests on the test result itself, so a driver cannot escape it by winning on a court technicality.
Dismissal of the DWUI in court will not affect the Administrative Per Se suspension.
If you are later convicted of DWUI, the time served on the Administrative Per Se suspension is credited toward the DWUI suspension.
The two penalties punish the same night of drinking, so the state does not make you serve the same time twice.
If you are convicted of the DWUI in court, the time served for the Administrative Per Se suspension will be credited toward the DWUI suspension.
An Administrative Per Se suspension starts 30 days after the officer issues the temporary driver's license and notice of suspension at the arrest, or at the end of any existing suspension or revocation.
The gap gives the driver time to ask for a hearing or limited privileges before the suspension begins.
Start of suspension/disqualification: 30 days after the issuance of the temporary driver’s license and notice of suspension given by the officer at the time of the arrest, or at the end of any existing suspension or revocation.
To be eligible for limited driving privileges during an Administrative Per Se suspension, you cannot have an ignition interlock requirement.
A driver who must have an interlock has already shown a high risk, so the state will not let them drive on a limited license.
You cannot have an ignition interlock requirement.
On the test
After a DWUI arrest, what chemical test result brings an Administrative Per Se suspension?
0.08 percent or greater. At that level a driver is impaired whether or not they feel it, so the license is taken before the case reaches court. Wyoming Rules of the Road Driver License Manual, p.19: “you have been arrested for DWUI and the results of your chemical test show an alcohol concentration of 0.08 percent or greater.”
How this works
Most practice tests hand you a bank of questions and leave the manual somewhere else. This one puts them together.
You read one law and the reason behind it, then answer a question on that law while it is still fresh. Get it right and you move on; get it wrong and you have found the gap while it is cheap to fix, not on the morning of the exam.
Learning one rule at a time, and proving it immediately, is what turns a manual you skimmed into something you actually know — and it makes studying feel like getting somewhere rather than like waiting to find out.
What it costs
- One payment, once — not a subscription. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel, for an exam you sit one time.
- Free to start: a 10-question test and the first section of cards. No sign-up and no account.
- Paying opens the rest of the cards, unlimited full-length practice tests, and retests built from exactly the questions you got wrong.
- Every level up to Prepared — 3 tests passed in a row.
- Do the work, fail the real exam, and we refund you.
