Tire safety — Wyoming Permit Test

Tire safety on the Wyoming permit test — 3 rules, each with the reason behind it and a question on it while it is fresh.

The rules

Check tire pressure against the recommended psi in the owner's manual or on the driver's side door jamb, using a tire pressure gauge.

Tires too soft or too hard grip the road poorly and can fail, and the right number is set for your car.

Check tire pressure using the recommended psi (pounds per square inch) found in the vehicle owner's manual or the driver's side door jamb of the vehicle.

Wyoming Rules of the Road Driver License Manual, p.68

Check your tires for wear and damage once a month, or before a long road trip.

Worn tires lose grip slowly, so you will not notice the problem until a wet road or a sudden stop shows it.

Once a month, or before you embark on a long road trip, check your tires for wear and damage problems.

In the penny test, if any part of Lincoln's head is covered by the tread, your tires have a safe amount of tread.

Below that depth, a tire cannot push water away and grips far worse on wet or icy roads.

If any part of Lincoln's head is covered by the tread, you're driving with the safe amount of tread.

On the test

Where can you find the recommended tire pressure for your vehicle?

On the driver's side door jamb. Tires too soft or too hard grip the road poorly and can fail, and the right number is set for your car. Wyoming Rules of the Road Driver License Manual, p.68: “Check tire pressure using the recommended psi (pounds per square inch) found in the vehicle owner's manual or the driver's side door jamb of the vehicle.”

How this works

Most practice tests hand you a bank of questions and leave the manual somewhere else. This one puts them together.

You read one law and the reason behind it, then answer a question on that law while it is still fresh. Get it right and you move on; get it wrong and you have found the gap while it is cheap to fix, not on the morning of the exam.

Learning one rule at a time, and proving it immediately, is what turns a manual you skimmed into something you actually know — and it makes studying feel like getting somewhere rather than like waiting to find out.

What it costs

  • One payment, once — not a subscription. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel, for an exam you sit one time.
  • Free to start: a 10-question test and the first section of cards. No sign-up and no account.
  • Paying opens the rest of the cards, unlimited full-length practice tests, and retests built from exactly the questions you got wrong.
  • Every level up to Prepared — 3 tests passed in a row.
  • Do the work, fail the real exam, and we refund you.
