Implied consent — Georgia Permit Test
Implied consent on the Georgia permit test — 4 rules, each with the reason behind it and a question on it while it is fresh.
The rules
Georgia law requires you to submit to state-administered chemical tests of blood, breath, urine or another bodily substance to decide whether you are under the influence.
The license you hold came with that agreement attached, which is what implied consent means.
Georgia law requires you to submit to state administered chemical tests of your blood, breath, urine, or other bodily substances for the purpose of determining if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Refusing the state chemical test suspends a Georgia license or driving privilege for a minimum of one year.
Refusing costs you the license whether or not you had been drinking, which is the trade the law makes.
If you refuse this testing, your Georgia driver's license or privilege to drive on the highways of this state will be suspended for a minimum period of one year.
After you have taken the required state tests, Georgia entitles you to further chemical tests at your own expense, taken by qualified people of your own choosing.
A second test is your check on the first one, and the right to it only exists after you take theirs.
After first submitting to the required state tests, you are entitled to additional chemical tests of your blood, breath, urine, or other bodily substances at your own expense and from qualified personnel of your own choosing.
Georgia also suspends a license without any conviction for refusing a chemical test, failing to appear in court or respond to a citation, unpaid child support, an unpaid Super Speeder fee and several other reasons.
A suspension can arrive from paperwork rather than from driving, and it counts just the same.
Failure to appear in court or respond to a citation
On the test
What does Georgia law require of a driver about chemical testing?
Submitting to the state tests when asked. The license you hold came with that agreement attached, which is what implied consent means. Georgia Driver's Manual, p.130: “Georgia law requires you to submit to state administered chemical tests of your blood, breath, urine, or other bodily substances for the purpose of determining if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.”
How this works
Most practice tests hand you a bank of questions and leave the manual somewhere else. This one puts them together.
You read one law and the reason behind it, then answer a question on that law while it is still fresh. Get it right and you move on; get it wrong and you have found the gap while it is cheap to fix, not on the morning of the exam.
Learning one rule at a time, and proving it immediately, is what turns a manual you skimmed into something you actually know — and it makes studying feel like getting somewhere rather than like waiting to find out.
What it costs
- One payment, once — not a subscription. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel, for an exam you sit one time.
- Free to start: a 10-question test and the first section of cards. No sign-up and no account.
- Paying opens the rest of the cards, unlimited full-length practice tests, and retests built from exactly the questions you got wrong.
- Every level up to Prepared — 3 tests passed in a row.
- Do the work, fail the real exam, and we refund you.
