Address change — Utah Permit Test
Address change on the Utah permit test — 3 rules, each with the reason behind it and a question on it while it is fresh.
The rules
A Utah Class D license holder must notify the division of a new address within 10 days of moving.
The division does not chase you. A suspension notice sent to your old address counts as delivered.
If you have a change of address, you are required by law to notify the division of the new address within 10 DAYS of moving.
A Utah commercial license holder must apply in person for a duplicate license within 30 days of an address change.
A commercial record follows a driver across state lines, so the address behind it has to be right and checked in person.
When the holder of a CDL license changes their mailing address or residence address they are required to apply, in-person, for a duplicate license within 30 days of the change.
A driver changing their address must provide two approved forms of address change verification and pay the applicable fee to receive the replacement.
The post office will not forward mail from the division, so the address on file has to be proved rather than stated.
All drivers wanting to change their address must provide two approved forms of address change verification to receive the replacement and pay the applicable fee.
On the test
How soon must a Utah Class D driver report a change of address?
Within 10 days. The division does not chase you. A suspension notice sent to your old address counts as delivered. Utah Driver Handbook 2026-2027, p.19: “If you have a change of address, you are required by law to notify the division of the new address within 10 DAYS of moving.”
How this works
Most practice tests hand you a bank of questions and leave the manual somewhere else. This one puts them together.
You read one law and the reason behind it, then answer a question on that law while it is still fresh. Get it right and you move on; get it wrong and you have found the gap while it is cheap to fix, not on the morning of the exam.
Learning one rule at a time, and proving it immediately, is what turns a manual you skimmed into something you actually know — and it makes studying feel like getting somewhere rather than like waiting to find out.
What it costs
- One payment, once — not a subscription. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel, for an exam you sit one time.
- Free to start: a 10-question test and the first section of cards. No sign-up and no account.
- Paying opens the rest of the cards, unlimited full-length practice tests, and retests built from exactly the questions you got wrong.
- Every level up to Prepared — 3 tests passed in a row.
- Do the work, fail the real exam, and we refund you.
