Oregon Permit Practice Test — Written Test, 35 Questions

Free 10-question Oregon permit practice test, then full 35-question tests like the real exam (28 to pass), each question cited to the 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual.

The exam

The Oregon Department of Transportation knowledge test is 35 questions, and 28 correct is a pass. Everything on it comes out of 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual. Officially it is the knowledge test; most people call it the written test, or the permit test.

How this works

Most practice tests hand you a bank of questions and leave the manual somewhere else. This one puts them together.

You read one law and the reason behind it, then answer a question on that law while it is still fresh. Get it right and you move on; get it wrong and you have found the gap while it is cheap to fix, not on the morning of the exam.

Learning one rule at a time, and proving it immediately, is what turns a manual you skimmed into something you actually know — and it makes studying feel like getting somewhere rather than like waiting to find out.

Ask a question about Oregon road law

Easier than searching the manual: ask in your own words — how far from a fire hydrant you may park, when you must stop for a school bus — and the answer comes from 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual or Oregon’s code, with the page or the section it is in. When neither says, the answer says so rather than guess. Or tick Nationwide and compare every state on one question.

What Oregon tests

76 concepts, 335 separate rules. Each one is a page of its own.

Questions from the Oregon test

What does DMV test before granting an original driving privilege in Oregon?

Vision, driving knowledge and driving skill. Each test covers a different way driving fails. Passing one says nothing about the other two, which is why all three are required. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.1: “For an original driving privilege, DMV will test your vision, driving knowledge and driving skill.”

How many correct answers does Oregon's Class C knowledge test require to pass?

28 questions. Knowing the mark tells you what a wrong answer costs: seven misses is survivable, and the eighth ends it. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.2: “You must answer 28 questions correctly to receive a passing score.”

On what basis may DMV waive the drive test?

A surrendered out-of-state license expired less than one year. Both waivers rest on recent evidence that somebody already watched you drive. Let either go stale and the waiver goes with it. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.3: “You are a new resident surrendering an out-of-state license that is valid or expired less than one year.”

What must a driver do at this sign?

Come to a complete stop and stay stopped for crossing pedestrians. The stop is not the end of the duty. You may enter only when it is safe, and a pedestrian keeps you there after the traffic has gone. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.7: “This sign means you must come to a complete stop. Yield to other vehicles and stop and stay stopped for pedestrians crossing in marked or unmarked crosswalks.”

What does this sign tell a driver?

The maximum speed permitted in miles per hour. The number is a ceiling for ideal conditions, not a target, and where the sign is electronic the ceiling itself moves. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.8: “This indicates the maximum speed in miles per hour. Signs may be electronic and may change based on current conditions.”

What does this sign warn a driver about?

People on foot crossing the driver's path. The beacon is the part drivers miss. It is not decoration — it fires because a person pressed it. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.10: “Pedestrian Crossing: Be alert for people crossing your path. These signs may include a flashing yellow beacon that indicates a pedestrian is crossing, has recently crossed or is about to cross.”

What does this sign give a driver?

Exit information and directions to roads or cities. Reading the exit number early is what stops the last-second swerve across lanes that causes crashes at interchanges. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.13: “They give exit information or show the direction of roads or cities.”

What does Oregon ask a driver to do in a designated safety corridor?

Turn on their lights for safety. The lights are not for your seeing -- they are so the oncoming driver judging a pass sees you sooner, on the stretch of road where that judgment goes wrong most often. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.13: “Turn on your lights for safety. Signs identifying safety corridors may include diamond shaped flags.”

What does a right turn permitted without stopping sign below a stop sign allow?

Traffic turning right may turn without stopping. It is the one sign that takes a stop away, and only for the one movement named. Everyone else at that sign still stops. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.8: “Right Turn Permitted Without Stopping: This sign may appear below a stop sign. Traffic turning right may turn without stopping. Other traffic must stop and yield right of way.”

What must a driver do at an intersection where the traffic signal is dark?

Stop as if there were stop signs in all directions. Every driver arriving has lost the same information, so the only rule that works is the one that makes everybody stop and take turns. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.15: “If a signal appears dark, such as during a power failure, you should stop as if there are stop signs in all directions.”

When may an Oregon driver leave the right side of the road?

To pass, to clear an obstruction, or where the road allows it. The exceptions are all temporary and all named. Anything not on the list leaves you on the wrong side of a road someone is coming down. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.18: “Drive on the right side of the road except when:”

When do Oregon's statutory speed limits apply?

To the areas named in law, whether or not a sign is posted. The absence of a sign is not the absence of a limit. On an unposted street the number is already set, and not knowing it is no defense. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.19: “The following speed limits are set in law for the specified areas, whether posted or not. They apply unless a different speed is posted.”

How may police enforce a variable advisory speed sign in Oregon?

Through the basic rule law. Advisory does not mean optional. The number is not itself a limit, but ignoring it in the conditions that raised it is a basic rule offense. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.20: “These are not speed limits, but police may enforce them through the basic rule law.”

When may an Oregon driver disregard a pavement marking?

When a police officer or road worker is redirecting traffic. Paint carries the same authority as a sign, and only a person on the road can override it. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.22: “You must obey all pavement markings unless you see a police officer or road worker redirecting traffic.”

What following distance does Oregon call safe at speeds greater than 30 mph?

4 seconds or more. Seconds rather than car lengths, because the gap you need grows with speed and a fixed number of lengths does not. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.26: “A safe following distance is defined as 2-4 seconds. For speeds greater than 30 mph, a safe following distance should be 4 seconds or more to allow you time to make a decision and take action.”

What is a space cushion?

Room kept ahead, to each side and behind the vehicle. You cannot control what other drivers do, only how much time their mistake leaves you, and the cushion is that time. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.26: “You should try to keep a cushion of space ahead, to each side and behind you.”

At 60 mph, how far does Oregon's manual say it takes to recognize a hazard and come to a stop?

More than the length of a football field. It puts the number in something you can picture. Most drivers imagine a stop taking a fraction of that, which is how following distances get set too short. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.29: “At 60 mph, the distance traveled from the point you recognize a hazard ahead and apply the brakes, to where your vehicle comes to a stop is greater than the length of a football field.”

When should a driver slow down for a curve?

Before entering the curve. Braking in the curve is what breaks traction. The speed has to be right before you turn the wheel, not after. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.30: “Slow down before you enter a curve. Use the speed shown below a curve sign as a guide, if posted.”

What is a blind spot?

An area not visible from the driver's seat. Mirrors are what make drivers believe they have looked. The blind spot is defined as the part they cannot fix. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.30: “Your “blind spot” is the area around your vehicle that you cannot see from the driver’s seat even with the use of your mirrors.”

May a driver exceed the speed limit to complete a pass in Oregon?

No — exceeding the limit is against the law at any time. The zone sets the room you have, and the limit stays in force inside it — there is no allowance for a pass that needs a few extra miles per hour. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.31: “Your pass may not begin before the start of a passing zone and must be completed before you enter a no-passing zone. Do not exceed the speed limit when passing; it is against the law to exceed speed limits at any time.”

Where does Oregon forbid passing regardless of the markings?

Anywhere the view of oncoming traffic is limited. Every no-passing rule below is a particular case of this one: you cannot judge a gap you cannot see the end of. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.32: “Do not pass in any area where your view of oncoming traffic is limited.”

When may an Oregon driver pass on the right?

When the vehicle ahead has signaled a left turn. Other drivers do not expect to be passed on the right, so the two cases where it is allowed are the two where they have shown you what they are doing. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.33: “The vehicle you are passing is making or has signaled for a left turn.”

What must a driver do on a freeway on-ramp?

Speed up to merge. It is the reverse of every other entry, where you slow or stop. Arriving slow means merging into traffic doing twice your speed. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.34: “Use the freeway on-ramp to speed up and merge with fast-moving traffic already on the road.”

What should a driver towing a trailer do when traffic stacks up behind them?

Pull off at the first safe turnout to let traffic pass. A line of traffic behind a slow vehicle is where drivers start taking passes they should not, so clearing it is a safety act rather than a courtesy. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.35: “If traffic is stacking up behind you, pull off at the first safe turnout to let the traffic pass.”

Which of these requires a signal in Oregon?

Exiting a roundabout. Exiting a roundabout is the one drivers forget, and it is the signal the person waiting to enter is reading. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.38: “You must signal before you turn, change lanes, exit a roundabout, or pull away from a curb.”

Where do Oregon's rules for turning apply?

At all locations. Drivers relax the rules the moment there is no intersection, and a driveway crossing a sidewalk is where a pedestrian is least expected. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.39: “Rules for turning apply at all locations, such as driveways and alleys, not just at intersections.”

Where does Oregon prohibit U-turns?

At signal-controlled intersections, unless a sign permits it. A signaled intersection releases traffic from several directions at once, and a U-turn crosses all of them at the slowest speed of any maneuver. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.41: “Intersections controlled by a traffic signal, unless a sign permits the turn.”

Where must a driver stop at an intersection with a stop sign but no stop line or crosswalk?

Before the unmarked crossing area. The line is not the point — the crossing is. Stopping past it puts the vehicle where somebody is walking. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.42: “At an intersection with a stop sign, steady red signal or flashing red signal, you must stop before the marked stop line or crosswalk, if there is one.”

Who must a driver yield to before entering a roundabout?

Traffic inside the roundabout and traffic exiting it. Yielding to the traffic already circulating is what keeps a roundabout moving; entering into a gap that is about to close is what stops it. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.43: “Before you enter the roundabout, you must yield to traffic inside as well as exiting the roundabout.”

What makes someone a vulnerable user of the road in Oregon?

They are hard to see and unprotected in a collision. They are grouped because they share one thing: they are hard to see and have nothing between them and your vehicle. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.46: “These users of the road are vulnerable because they can be hard to see and may not have protection against injury in a collision.”

When does a pedestrian count as crossing the road in Oregon?

When any part or extension of them moves onto the road. The duty starts at the curb edge, not when somebody is in front of you, and a cane tip counts as the part that started it. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.46: “You must stop for pedestrians crossing the road at any marked or unmarked crosswalk. A pedestrian is crossing the road when any part or extension (cane, wheelchair, bicycle, etc.) of the pedestrian moves onto the road.”

How long must a driver remain stopped for a pedestrian using a white cane or guide dog?

Until they have crossed the entire road. The whole road, not the near half — someone who cannot see your vehicle cannot judge when you have started moving again. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.48: “Stop if the person is about to cross or is crossing the road. Remain stopped until the person has crossed the entire road, even if you have a green light.”

What speed applies in an Oregon school speed zone?

20 mph. The zone has a defined end, so speeding back up at the school gate is early by however far the sign still is. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.49: “A school speed zone is an area where a reduced speed of 20 mph applies and is defined by school speed signs.”

When may a driver enter a bike lane in Oregon?

To cross it when turning or using a driveway or alley. Crossing takes a moment and is expected; traveling in it puts you where a cyclist has nowhere else to go. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.50: “Do not drive or park in a bike lane. You may cross a bike lane when turning or when entering or leaving an alley, driveway, or private road.”

May a driver share a lane with a motorcycle in Oregon?

No — a motorcycle must be allowed a full lane. A rider uses the whole lane to place themselves for surface and wind, and sharing it removes the room they are using. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.52: “It is against the law to share a lane with a person riding a motorcycle or moped. When passing, you must allow them a full lane.”

How much further does a large vehicle take to stop than a smaller one at the same speed?

About three times the distance. It is why cutting in front of one and then braking leaves them nothing — the gap you took was their stopping distance. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.53: “These vehicles take about three times the distance to stop than smaller vehicles traveling at the same speed.”

What should a driver do on seeing a pilot vehicle in oncoming traffic?

Reduce speed and move as far right as possible in their lane. The pilot is warning you that the load behind it is wider than its own lane, and your side of the road is part of the clearance. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.54: “If you see a pilot vehicle in oncoming traffic, reduce your speed and position your vehicle as far to the right as possible, while staying in your lane.”

What must a driver do when a school bus's red lights begin to flash?

Stop before reaching the bus and stay stopped until they go off. Amber is the warning and red is the order, and the children crossing are in front of a bus that hides them from you. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.55: “Flashing amber lights warn traffic that the bus is about to stop on the road to load or unload children. Prepare to stop. When the red lights flash, stop before reaching the bus and remain stopped until the driver turns off the flashing red lights.”

What does the slow moving vehicle emblem tell a driver?

To be ready to slow down or adjust position. The emblem is on the back of something doing 15 mph on a road where you are doing 55, and the closing speed is the whole danger. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.56: “Be prepared to slow down or adjust your position when you see this sign.”

What must a driver do when approaching a vehicle stopped with lights flashing?

Change lanes, or slow at least 5 mph below the limit. It covers any vehicle with lights flashing, not just emergency ones, because whoever is beside it is standing in a live lane. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.57: “you must change lanes so you do not drive next to the stopped vehicle. You may also slow down by at least 5 miles per hour under the posted speed limit.”

Where must a driver not stop when yielding to an emergency vehicle?

Anywhere inside an intersection. Stopping in the intersection blocks the route from every direction at once, which is the one place an emergency vehicle cannot go around you. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.58: “When you see or hear an emergency vehicle warning, you must immediately drive as close as you safely can to the right side of the road and stop. Do not stop in an intersection.”

Where should a driver stop when pulled over by police?

As close to the right side of the road as is safe. The officer has to walk to your window, and the center median puts that walk in a live lane on both sides. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.58: “Drive as close as you safely can to the right side of the road, stop and turn off the engine. Do not stop in an intersection or pull into the center median of a highway.”

What happens to traffic fines in an Oregon work zone?

They are doubled. The doubled fine is the state pricing the risk to people standing a lane away from traffic with nothing between them and it. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.59: “Traffic fines are doubled in all work zones. You are expected to yield to workers.”

With no stop line, how far from the nearest rail must a driver stop?

At least 15 feet. Fifteen feet is outside the swing of a train, which overhangs its rails by more than most drivers expect. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.64: “When required to stop, do so at the stop line. If there is no stop line, stop at least 15 feet from the nearest rail.”

What should a driver do when a streetcar stops to pick up passengers?

Stay behind it until it moves or the people are clear. Passengers step straight off into the lane beside the car, which is the lane you would be passing in. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.65: “If a streetcar or train stops to pick up or drop off people, stay behind it until it moves again or the people are safely away.”

How far from the curb may a vehicle be parked in Oregon?

No more than 12 inches. A car sitting proud of the curb takes width from the lane beside it, and one facing traffic has to cross the road against it to leave. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.68: “Park parallel to and no more than 12 inches from the curb.”

Why are the front wheels turned when parking on a hill?

To stop the vehicle rolling downhill if the brake fails. The wheel position is the backup for a brake that lets go, which is the failure the whole procedure assumes. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.69: “Always set your parking brake. Leave your vehicle in gear if it has a manual transmission or in park for an automatic transmission. Turn your front wheels as indicated below to prevent your vehicle from rolling downhill in case the brake fails.”

Who may park in a space marked for persons with disabilities?

Only a holder of a valid disabled parking permit. The space is not a convenience, it is the only one somebody can use, and a permit is the whole of the qualification. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.69: “It is illegal to park in a space marked for persons with disabilities unless you have a valid disabled parking permit.”

Which of these is a place Oregon forbids stopping or parking?

On the road side of a parked vehicle. Each of these is somewhere a stopped vehicle forces somebody else out of their proper place and into traffic. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.70: “On the road side of any parked vehicle (double parking).”

When may a driver park where parking is not normally allowed?

On a breakdown, if it creates no hazard. The exemption is for a vehicle that cannot be moved, not for a driver who would rather not, and the hazard lights are the price of it. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.71: “If your vehicle breaks down and you have no choice, you may temporarily stop or park in areas where it usually is not allowed, as long as the vehicle does not create a hazard.”

What does Oregon require of a driver's view from the vehicle?

They must be able to see to the front, the sides and the rear. Anything on the glass is in the one place you cannot look around, and it is there on every trip rather than just the one it matters on. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.73: “You must be able to see what is to the front, sides, and rear of your vehicle. Do not load or equip your vehicle in any way that blocks what you can see.”

How must a safety belt be worn in Oregon?

Snug, with the shoulder strap across the shoulder. Slack lets you build up speed before the belt catches you, and a strap behind the back leaves nothing holding the upper body at all. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.73: “Do not leave slack in the lap or shoulder portion of the belt.”

Until what age or height must an Oregon child use an approved child safety seat?

Until 8 years old or at least 4 feet 9 inches tall. An adult belt on a small child crosses the neck and abdomen rather than the shoulder and hips, which is where it does the damage. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.74: “Child passengers must be restrained in approved child safety seats until they are 8 years of age or at least 4 feet 9 inches in height, and the adult lap and shoulder belt fits them correctly.”

What three actions does Oregon's manual give for avoiding a collision?

Stopping quickly, turning quickly, and speeding up. Braking is the only one most drivers reach for, and it is frequently the one that will not work in the distance available. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.74: “Turning quickly: In most cases, you can turn the vehicle more quickly than you can stop it.”

What does a raised hand from a person on horseback mean?

The animal is frightened. The horn is the instinctive thing to do and the exact wrong one: the rider is asking for quiet, not for warning. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.75: “A raised hand means the animal is frightened. Do not use your horn or make other loud, sudden noises near the animal.”

Besides sunset to sunrise, when must Oregon headlights be on?

Whenever people or vehicles are hard to see 1,000 feet ahead. The second half is the one that catches drivers out — fog at noon triggers it just as darkness does. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.76: “Lights also must be on at any time conditions make it difficult to see people or vehicles 1,000 feet ahead.”

Where should a driver look when oncoming headlights are glaring at night?

A little to the right. Looking straight at oncoming headlights costs you several seconds of night vision, and the fog line keeps you placed while they pass. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.77: “Look a little to the right of oncoming lights and watch the road edge or fog line. This helps you be less blinded by headlight glare.”

Which headlights should a driver use in fog?

Low beam. High beams feel like the answer and are the opposite of it — the fog throws your own light straight back at you. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.77: “If you drive into fog, dust, smoke, or any area of low visibility, use headlights on low beam. Light from high beams will reflect back, causing glare, making it more difficult to see ahead.”

Why should a driver not use cruise control in wet conditions?

It holds speed rather than easing off. Cruise control will accelerate through standing water rather than back off, which is how a car aquaplanes at a steady speed. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.77: “Increase your visibility to other motorists by turning on your headlights when your windshield wipers are on. Do not use cruise control in wet conditions.”

When is an Oregon road likely to be most slippery?

When the temperature is near freezing. Both facts are counter-intuitive, and both describe the moment a driver has the least reason to expect trouble. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.78: “Be aware that the road is likely to be the most slippery when the temperature is near the freezing point rather than below freezing.”

What should a driver do first when the vehicle begins to skid?

Stay off the brakes until the vehicle slows. Braking in a skid keeps the wheels locked and the grip gone, so the first action is the one that feels most like doing nothing. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.79: “Stay off the brakes. Until the vehicle slows, your brakes will not be effective.”

When are studded tires generally allowed in Oregon?

November 1 through March 31. The window is a legal one rather than a weather one — running studs in April is an offense however cold it is. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.79: “Studded tires are generally allowed only from November 1 through March 31 in Oregon.”

May a driver under 18 use a hands-free cell phone in Oregon?

No — any use of the device while driving is illegal. No hands-free exception exists for a driver under 18 — the device is simply not to be used, which is why the manual says turn it off or put it in the back seat. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.80: “It is illegal for drivers under 18 years of age to use a cell phone or other mobile electronic device while operating a vehicle.”

What should a driver do about an aggressive driver?

Stay out of the way and not challenge them. Responding turns their behavior into a contest, and the only way to win it is to not be in it. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.81: “If you see an aggressive driver, stay out of the way. Do not challenge them by going faster or trying to out-drive them.”

Can a driver be arrested for DUII in Oregon with a BAC below 0.08%?

Yes — arrest is possible below that figure. The number is a presumption, not a permission. Below it you are not safe from arrest, only from the presumption. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.82: “If your blood alcohol concentration is 0.08% or more, Oregon law presumes you are impaired, but you can still be arrested even if your BAC is lower than 0.08%.”

What does Oregon's implied consent law mean?

By driving, you have agreed to take a test when asked. Consent was given when you drove, so refusal is its own offense rather than a way of avoiding one. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.83: “Oregon’s Implied Consent law means that by driving a motor vehicle, you have agreed that you will take a breath, blood, or urine test when asked by a police officer.”

Who does Oregon law prohibit from riding in a pickup bed?

Anyone under 18 years of age. There is nothing to hold a person on an external surface, and a normal stop is enough to put them under the wheels. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.84: “Oregon law prohibits anyone under 18 years of age from riding on the hood, fender, running board, or other external part of a vehicle, including a pickup bed.”

What should a driver do when a tire blows out?

Grip the wheel firmly. Braking hard on a blowout takes away what grip the other three tires still have, so the slowing has to be gradual. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.84: “If a front tire blows, steering will be difficult and there may be a strong pull to the side. A rear blowout causes the back of the vehicle to weave or sway.”

What is the minimum age to apply for an Oregon instruction permit?

15 years of age. The year between them is the supervised practice the license is built on, which is why the permit comes first and cannot be skipped. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.89: “Be at least 15 years of age to apply for an instruction permit.”

How many supervised hours does an under-18 Oregon applicant need without a traffic safety course?

100 hours. The course halves the hours because it replaces some of what the hours are for, which is why DMV has to actually receive the proof. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.90: “You must have 100 hours of supervised driving experience or 50 hours of supervised driving experience and have taken an ODOT-approved traffic safety education course.”

Which of these proves an Oregon address for a license application?

Mail from a business, school or agency. Forwarded mail proves where you used to live, which is exactly what the requirement is trying to rule out. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.91: “Mail from a business, school or government agency containing your first and last name. Personal mail and forwarded mail is not acceptable.”

How does an Oregon license show that the holder is an organ donor?

A heart on the front and Anatomical Donor on the back. The marking is what makes the decision findable in the moment it matters, which is why it is on the card rather than in a file. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.92: “When issued your driving privilege, you can sign up on the organ, eye, and tissue donor registry.”

What is Oregon's minimum bodily injury cover for one person per collision?

$25,000. These are minimums rather than recommendations, and a collision costing more than them is paid out of your own pocket. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.93: “Bodily Injury and Property Damage: $25,000 per collision for one person; $50,000 per collision for bodily injury to or death of two or more persons; and $20,000 per collision for damage to the property of others.”

What should drivers in a minor collision with no injuries do with their vehicles?

Move them out of the travel lanes as soon as it is safe. Leaving vehicles in a live lane is how a minor collision becomes a second, worse one — the exchange can happen anywhere. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.93: “Stop. If there are no injuries and vehicles can be safely moved, move them out of travel lanes as soon as possible. Information can be exchanged away from the scene of the collision.”

Does a police report satisfy Oregon's requirement to file a collision report?

No — the driver must still file with DMV. The police report is the state's record, not yours, and assuming it counts is how drivers lose their privilege for failing to report. 2026-2027 Oregon Driver Manual, p.94: “A police report does not replace your requirement to file a report with DMV.”
